The careers section of JobSearch provides information about specific occupations (almost 400 in total) using the following five services:

Job Outlook
You can search for job information in three ways. Choose the one that suits you.
Occupation
- Select Browse occupations alphabetically.
- Select an occupational category from the list. You can then link to further information about the job, or use the links at the bottom of the page to find vacancies or training.
Occupation category
- Select Browse occupations by category.
- Select a category, for example 'Finance, Banking and Insurance'.
- Select an occupation, for example 'Insurance Clerks'. You can then link to further information about the job, or use the links at the bottom of the page to find vacancies or training.
Keyword search
- Type into the Keyword occupation search field a word relating to your occupation, for example 'insurance'.
- Select Search.
- Choose an occupation from the list, for example 'Insurance Clerks'. You can then link to further information about the job, or use the links at the bottom of the page to find vacancies or training.

Job Explorer
This tool is used to see whether your skills match an occupation. You can learn about the regular duties and characteristics of selected occupations. The search methods are exactly the same as for Job Outlook. Follow the steps as above.

Career quiz
The career quiz helps to identify the type of work you most like doing. The results of the quiz point to likes and dislikes about work that may help you choose jobs that suit your interests. This is not a formal assessment.
- Select the answers by checking the radio button next to your choice.
- Select See result at the end of question 15.
- Use the links to drill down into occupation categories.
SkillsInfo
Provides a link to the SkillsInfo website. The website is built around five themes: Education and Training, Industries, Regions, Skills Issues and Skills Links.
Training
Provides links to training websites including Australian Apprenticeships information.
